A Field of Love: Kansas Farmer Plants Epic Wheat Field Message for 20th Anniversary Surprise
In a truly extraordinary testament to love and dedication, a Kansas farmer spent months meticulously planning and planting a breathtaking 20th wedding anniversary surprise for his wife
An enormous, heartfelt message carved into their wheat field, visible only from above! Jesse Blasi, a farmer from Pratt, Kansas, was inspired by a neighbor's sunflower field surprise and knew he wanted to create something equally unforgettable for his wife, Sarah, as their two-decade milestone approached. Utilizing his expertise in advanced farming technology, including "multi-varietal prescription planting," Jesse used a John Deere air seeder to precisely plant two different types of wheat, red and white, beginning his secret project last October. Over 65 million red wheat seeds were strategically placed to form the giant letters.

Keeping such an ambitious project under wraps proved challenging, especially with inquisitive phone calls from other local farmers noticing the unique agricultural art taking shape. However, just in time for their anniversary, the surprise was finally complete.
The grand reveal saw Jesse take Sarah on a small plane ride over their farm. From the air, Sarah saw the incredible message sprawled across their fields: "Jesse + Sarah 20 Years." The sprawling declaration of love measured an astonishing half a mile wide and a mile long!

A video capturing Sarah's emotional reaction perfectly encapsulates the magic of the moment. "That’s Jesse Blasi love, that’s farmer love right there,” she shared with local outlet KAKE, visibly touched by her husband's extraordinary gesture. Jesse simply stated, "I knew it would make her smile. That was kinda the whole goal — to get the little grin out of her that I like."

The couple, who met at Kansas State University, are proud parents to two daughters, Reagan, 14, and Avery, 12, whom Jesse affectionately calls their "best crop." Sarah beautifully summarized her husband's thoughtful nature, noting that "Farmers are more apt to do acts of service to show their love. Just him doing something like this shows — it's just extra, it's just a little bit extra!”
This incredible act of love will remain etched in the landscape until the fall harvest, standing as a grand and heartwarming symbol of two decades of marriage and a farmer's truly unique way of showing affection.
