After a 44-year wait, an adopted woman's determined search for her birth family culminated in a heartwarming reunion with two sisters she never knew she had. Magda Berg's two-decade-long personal quest hit a wall, leading her to enlist the help of a private investigator. For a relatively small investment, she received the names and addresses of her family just four months later.
The 44-year-old mother was overjoyed to connect with her birth mother and discover she had three half-siblings, including two sisters close to her age. Now residing in England, Magda describes feeling a profound sense of family. "My sisters and I clicked instantly, it was incredible," she shared, highlighting their regular contact. "I am so incredibly happy."

The sisters quickly discovered they share a remarkable understanding and similar perspectives on life, often finishing each other's sentences as if they had grown up together. For Magda, this newfound connection has filled a void, providing the genuine sense of family she had always longed for.
Growing up in Poland, Magda knew she was adopted. After moving to the UK in 2005, her knowledge of her birth mother was limited to a name, a village, and the location of the convent where she was left as a baby. The tragic loss of her adoptive parents in a car accident when she was 18 fueled her desire to learn more about her origins. However, the closure of the convent presented a significant obstacle.
A pivotal change in Polish law in 2018 allowed Magda to obtain her original birth certificate, revealing her birth mother's maiden name and hometown. When her own efforts to find more information stalled, she made the decision to hire a private detective. This proved to be the breakthrough she needed, as the detective located her mother and revealed the existence of her three half-siblings: two sisters and a brother.
The detective initially sent letters to Magda's birth mother without a response. Eventually, one of Magda's half-sisters, Beata, found a letter and contacted the detective, arranging a meeting with Magda. Their first encounter in Warsaw felt like a reunion of long-lost halves.

A year later, Magda's mother agreed to meet, sharing the story of being a young, unmarried mother when Magda was born and later starting a family with another man. Magda now also cherishes her relationship with a young niece. The three sisters make an effort to see each other twice a year and stay connected through frequent messages, reveling in their shared interests and the deep bond they have forged. For Magda, this experience has brought an immeasurable sense of belonging and a profound love for her newfound family. She still finds joy and a touch of disbelief in referring to "my sisters."
